Humanity is facing the critical problem of air pollution that claims millions of lives each year.
To combat this, we have engineered a system that will: –
Display the PM 2.5 Concentration and the AQI (Air Quality Index) of the surrounding air, and
Cleanse the air using a HEPA Filter.
We call it the Air Quality Evaluating Device and Air Purifier.
The PMS 7003 Sensor measures the fine particulate matter concentration of the air and the data is sent to the Arduino Uno R3. Using that data, the AQI is calculated. Finally, both the PM 2.5 Concentration and the AQI are printed on the LCD. In the Air Purifier, a fan is attached to the filter and powered through an AC wire.
After carrying out 4 experiments, we have come to the following conclusions: –
If mass-produced, this could become a cost-effective and efficient solution to the air in indoor environments, which is often more polluted then we might expect.
Our model is relatively small which enables it to be kept in a variety of spaces.
The system responds accurately to the changing concentrations.
By and large, this has been a successful project that has achieved its aims.
Further research into this subject is definitely required.
